JOURNALISTS, TV AND FILMING CREWS

VITEM II Visas are issued to foreigners travelling to Brazil as journalists, TV and filming crews in short-term assignments. This kind of visa is not applicable to press correspondents, who must apply for a VITEM VI visa.

PROFESSIONAL FILMING IN BRAZIL
Prior authorization from ANCINE (Brazilian National Cinema Agency) is required in the case of commercial, publicity and documentary filming in Brazil. The person intending to film must seek assistance from a Brazilian co-producer, who will apply to the Brazilian National Cinema Agency (ANCINE) on his behalf for approval. (Contact details in item E below)

According to the visa exemption agreement between Brazil and the Netherlands, dated from 1956, Dutch passport holders are exempt from this kind of visa. Therefore, upon receipt of the authorisation from ANCINE, original passports must be submitted to this Consulate General in order to be duly stamped.
