ARTISTS AND SPORTSMEN
Temporary Visas Type III (VITEM-III) are issued
to sportsmen and artists and their retinues travelling
to Brazil to work in shows or competitions as
professionals remunerated by a source in Brazil.
The requirements to be fulfilled in Brazil are
listed in the Normative
Resolution 69/2006 of the National Council
for Immigration. Application must be made by the
company on behalf of the beneficiary at the Ministry
of Labour and Employment in Brazil, not in
this Consulate..
Once Brazilian home authorities approve the visa
request, they will instruct the Consulate General
to issue a temporary visa III, the name of the
beneficiary will be published in the Consulate's
website at Authorized
Visas. The visa must be collected within 180
days. The documents below must then be submitted
to the Consulate General.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS TO
RETRIEVE THE VISA
A – Passport valid for a minimum of six
months.
B – One recent 3 cm x 4 cm photograph,
front view
C– One visa application form (click
here to fill in the form). Please disregard
the error message about the website’s security
certificate. Click at “Continue to this
website (not recommended)”.
Fill in the form.
. Click "SEND" to receive your processing
number and receipt.
. Print the receipt.
. Attach your photograph
. Sign the receipt.
. Bring the duly completed and signed receipt,
the original documentation, passport and payment.
The visa application form filled out
online is valid for one month only. If you apply
after that period, it will be necessary to fill
out another form.
D– Notarized letter of consent signed by
father and mother or guardian (proof of guardianship
required), for applicants younger than 18 years
old when travelling alone. If travelling with
one parent only, notarized letter of consent of
the non-accompanying parent is required.
PLEASE NOTE THAT
On a reciprocity basis, first entry into Brazil
must be made within 90 days after the visa has
been issued for passport holders of the following
countries: Angola, Bahrain, Cambodia, China, Gabon,
Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Laos,
Lybia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Paraguay, Philippines,
Portugal, Thailand, Tunisia and Switzerland.
Artists or an athletes travelling to Brazil to
participate in nonremunerated (premiums excepted)
sports competitions and artistic contests may
apply for a tourist visa.
In addition to the compliance with requirements
for a Tourist Visa,
the applicant must present directly to the Consulate
General a letter from the sponsoring party in
Brazil stating the nature of the event.
Citizens of some countries, including the Netherlands,
are exempt from Tourist
Visa.
Maximum duration of the VITEM-III visa is 90
days. Extensions can be applied for at the Department
of Federal Police, in Brazil, before the visa
expires.
CONSULAR FEES
A charge of € 36,00 is applicable
per VITEM – III visa. An additional processing
fee of € 135,00 is charged
to visa applications presented by U.S. citizens
in reciprocity for identical fee paid by Brazilian
citizens who apply for a visa to the United States
of America. Applications for Temporary Visa III
(VITEM-III) may be submitted in person, by an
agent or by mail. All applications submitted by
agent or by mail are subject to a €
18,00 handling fee, in addition to any
other applicable fee. All fees are payable
either by debit card (PIN) or in cash. Credit
cards and cheques are not accepted.
UPON ARRIVAL OF COMPLETE DOCUMENTATION
AT THE CONSULATE-GENERAL, PLEASE ALLOW A MINIMUM
OF FIVE WORKING DAYS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF THE VISA.
EXTRA TIME MAY BE NECESSARY IN CASE OF GROUPS
AND OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. ADD A MINIMUM OF TWO
WORKING DAYS FOR PASSPORTS RETURNED BY MAIL.
